Staff/Principal Software Engineer - Security Platform

Responsibilities
- Build and operate secure, resilient distributed systems for secrets and key management across Cloudflare’s global network.
- Strengthen and re-architect internal PKI and machine/workload identity systems.
- Provide operational support for systems and help internal developers use the services correctly.
- Consult on the design and architecture of new systems and products to ensure secure implementation and proper use of platform services.
- Participate in on-call support outside standard working hours as needed.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Expertise in software development and distributed systems design.
- Strong security background focused on implementation rather than policy or compliance.
- Preferred: contributions to open source security or distributed systems projects.
- Preferred: cryptography experience, including work with cryptosystems at the primitives level.
- Preferred: experience with HSMs, TPMs, or platform TEEs such as AMD SEV, Intel SGX, or Apple Secure Enclave.
- Preferred: familiarity with HashiCorp Vault, OpenBao, or similar tools.
- Preferred: Linux/UNIX system administration proficiency and familiarity with Go and/or Python with Salt.
