Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure patterns and reusable Terraform modules across Azure, AWS, and OCI.
- Build and support deployment automation using GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy, and ArgoCD, with configuration management through Ansible and Octopus Deploy.
- Provision autonomous environments and enable development delivery teams while maintaining guardrails and separation of duties.
- Operate containerised and micro-service workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service, maintaining availability and reliability.
- Manage infrastructure lifecycle activities across Windows and Linux environments, including remediation, patching, upgrades, scaling, and decommissioning.
- Drive cloud governance, security standards, compliance evidence, observability, incident response, on-call support, and disaster recovery testing.
- Recommend improvements to infrastructure, systems, and processes to increase resilience, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance, code review, documentation, and support to junior engineers and development delivery teams.
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent practical experience and at least three years of experience as a Platform Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar.
- Strong experience designing and implementing infrastructure in Azure and AWS, with deep hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform.
- Experience building and debugging CI/CD and deployment pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong Windows cloud-environment management skills and solid Linux fundamentals.
- Proficiency in a scripting language such as PowerShell and experience automating operational workflows.
- Understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, network security, application architectures, and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience working with development delivery teams and using Jira and Confluence to manage work.
- Ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders, manage concurrent workstreams, and participate in required on-call support.
- AI literacy and willingness to use AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, coding assistants, and agents.
- Desirable qualifications include experience in regulated financial services, Azure or AWS certifications, Kubernetes, AKS, ArgoCD, Ansible, disaster recovery tooling, OCI, FinOps, AI or agentic engineering tools, governance tooling, and incident-management tooling.
