Base Salary
$113k - $183k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy backend RESTful API services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Provide day-to-day technical leadership on complex engineering problems and guide implementation decisions.
- Lead development on cross-functional Agile teams and partner with product and architecture stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, pairing, and feedback.
- Drive engineering excellence through architecture, testing, CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness.
- Apply and help guide the use of AI-assisted development tools and software engineering agents.
- Guide full-stack implementation tradeoffs while remaining primarily focused on backend microservices.
- Contribute to application and interface design, technical documentation, and scalable integration patterns.
- Identify and resolve complex production and development issues and improve system resilience.
Requirements
- Strong backend engineering experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot, including RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Ability to build secure, scalable platform services in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience deploying backend services in cloud-native environments.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted and agentic software development workflows.
- Ability to review, validate, test, and refine AI-generated code and pull requests for correctness, maintainability, performance, security, and engineering-standard alignment.
- Knowledge of responsible AI usage and secure coding practices in AI-assisted development.
- Preferred experience includes building production AI agents with Python, using LangChain or LangGraph, integrating LLMs with tools and data systems, designing evaluations and guardrails, managing multi-agent workflows and context, optimizing prompts and latency, and MLOps or model deployment experience.
