Responsibilities
- Embed onsite with assigned public safety agencies to understand their missions, workflows, systems, and operational priorities.
- Translate customer problems into technical requirements, success criteria, and practical solutions.
- Build applications, dashboards, workflows, automations, and other extensions using Axon products and approved tools.
- Apply software engineering practices including APIs, scripting, data structures, testing, debugging, and version control.
- Test and iterate solutions with end users, drive adoption, measure outcomes, and document reusable implementations.
- Serve as the agency’s technical resource and coordinate complex deployments, issues, and priorities across Axon teams.
- Capture customer insights, recurring needs, and platform limitations to inform Product and Engineering.
Requirements
- Typically 3–5+ years of experience in solutions engineering, software engineering, systems, technical consulting, implementation engineering, or another hands-on technical role.
- Demonstrated foundational software engineering capability and experience building technical solutions.
- Working knowledge of APIs, scripting or programming, data, testing, debugging, and modern development practices.
- Understanding of AI concepts and practical applications, with the ability to learn emerging platforms and tools quickly.
- Ability to solve ambiguous problems and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Customer-facing mindset and curiosity about organizational operations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS compliance and satisfy applicable agency background requirements.
- Ability to maintain the onsite presence required by the engagement.
- Preferred experience with Python, JavaScript, SQL, REST APIs, cloud platforms, modern frameworks, AI platforms, workflow automation, low-code development, or data.
- Experience in public safety, defense, military, intelligence, government, or other mission-critical environments is preferred.
