Responsibilities
- Build integrations against third-party billing and usage APIs, handling authentication, incremental synchronization, rate limits, errors, schema drift, and partial failures.
- Develop and improve the Integrations Framework, including testing harnesses and scaffolding that make future integrations faster to deliver.
- Build customer-facing interfaces for connecting, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting integrations, including health visibility, error states, credential rotation, and reconnects.
- Design self-service capabilities for backfills, reconnects, diagnostics, and API-driven platform operations.
- Use AI tools across exploration, prototyping, coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and code review, applying judgment about appropriate usage.
- Own features end to end from proposal and specification through implementation and ongoing maintenance.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience shipping and owning production features.
- Strong TypeScript skills, including modern frontend development; React is preferred.
- Hands-on Go experience or strong backend experience with Python, Java, Node.js, or C# and enthusiasm for learning Go.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and integrating third-party APIs, including authentication flows, pagination, rate limits, partial failures, and breaking changes.
- Ability to work across the stack and own features from the database through the user interface.
- Working proficiency in SQL and experience developing with cloud services such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience using AI tools across the engineering workflow and ability to discuss their practical impact.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering practices, design patterns, and architectural principles.
- Demonstrated interest in building high-quality web or SaaS applications and strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes integration platforms or extensibility frameworks, cloud or SaaS billing data, BigQuery, data pipelines, Dagster, Airflow, AI-powered product features, FinOps, or cloud financial management products.
- A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience is a bonus qualification.
