Responsibilities
- Design and develop new systems and enhancements for high-traffic, large-scale software applications and data flows.
- Own and evolve technical strategy and architectural direction across the three TM1 Data Apps teams.
- Review and modernize infrastructure, emphasizing reuse, simplification, scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Design monitoring, alerting, application performance, automated build, and deployment systems.
- Establish shared engineering standards, patterns, guardrails, and architecture practices across the wider function.
- Identify and lead resolution of systemic technical risks and dependencies spanning multiple teams or products.
- Guide development of a comprehensive QA platform and evaluate new tools and technologies.
- Advise engineering, product, and business stakeholders on significant technology decisions and investment priorities.
- Mentor engineers, review code, support skills development, and lead teams through new initiatives.
- Own day-to-day work-unit delivery, including stand-ups, blocker escalation, timelines, stakeholder updates, and production support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of experience building high-traffic web applications and deploying them to production with a focus on quality and maintainability.
- Proficiency in one or more of Java, TypeScript, or Node.js, with willingness to learn the others.
- Experience working with cloud-based platforms, preferably AWS.
- Experience supporting live applications, debugging issues, reading logs, and using application dashboards such as Grafana and CloudWatch.
- Experience writing SQL queries and working with SQL databases such as MySQL and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and deployment tools including Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Experience with code and build tools including GitLab, Jenkins, and Sonar.
- Experience working in Agile teams and delivering work in time-boxed settings.
- Ability to handle production issues, on-call support, cross-team projects, stakeholder communication, and mentoring.
- Experience in entertainment or online ticketing, diverse cultural and regulatory environments, or using Claude or similar AI tools in the software development lifecycle is beneficial.
