Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain BMS application and control software models for BESS applications using MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow.
- Perform model-based development, automatic code generation, control-algorithm integration, model reviews, and model-to-code debugging.
- Generate production-quality embedded code and support software quality and coding-standard compliance.
- Develop and execute MIL, SIL, PIL, open-loop, and closed-loop verification and validation strategies.
- Create test cases, scenarios, harnesses, and automated scripts; execute regression, functional, boundary-value, robustness, and requirement-based testing.
- Analyze test results, perform root-cause analysis, track defects, and maintain test coverage and traceability.
- Manage BMS software requirements and requirements-to-test traceability using IBM DOORS or equivalent tools.
- Perform static code analysis with Polyspace or Parasoft and model-quality checks with Simulink Check.
- Develop MATLAB/M-Scripting and Python automation utilities for test execution, data processing, reporting, and engineering workflows.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in model-based software development, BMS software, verification, or related work.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
- Extensive hands-on experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Simulink Test Manager, and Simulink Check.
- Strong understanding of model-based development, automatic code generation, BMS architecture, and BMS control algorithms.
- Experience with MIL, SIL, PIL, test automation, requirement-based testing, regression testing, test coverage, and traceability.
- Experience with IBM DOORS or equivalent requirements-management tools and Polyspace or Parasoft.
- Strong MATLAB/M-Scripting skills and good Python programming or scripting skills.
- Understanding of C/C++ and embedded software concepts.
- Preferred experience with automotive BMS, EV, hybrid-vehicle, energy-storage, or BESS applications; Embedded Coder; CAN/CAN FD; HIL testing; real-time simulation; ISO 26262; AUTOSAR; CI/CD pipelines; Git; battery testing; battery characterization; and battery models.
