Responsibilities
- Drive team goals, technical direction, and organizational efficiency initiatives.
- Communicate complex features and systems in detail across teams and leadership.
- Assess industry and company-wide trends and help develop new technologies.
- Mentor and influence organization leaders and improve team and organizational performance.
- Identify opportunities, influence staffing and prioritization, and lead multi-year technical roadmaps for cross-company efforts.
- Gather and synthesize requirements and create effective feature roadmaps.
- Resolve performance and scalability issues and lead efforts to reduce technical debt.
- Integrate AI tools, responsible AI practices, prompt/context engineering, and agent orchestration where appropriate.
- Improve engineering quality through code reviews, testing, rollouts, monitoring, and proactive changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12+ years of programming experience in a relevant language, or 8+ years of experience with a PhD.
- Experience mentoring and influencing executive stakeholders across organizations.
- Experience using data and analysis to explain technical problems and provide detailed feedback and solutions.
- Experience driving large cross-functional, industry-wide engineering efforts.
- Experience communicating and working across functions to drive solutions.
- A proven record of planning multi-year roadmaps that connect short-term projects to long-term missions.
- Preferred: 8+ years of relevant experience building large-scale infrastructure applications or similar experience.
- Preferred: experience with responsible and ethical AI practices, including risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality and accuracy reviews.
- Preferred: experience with C, C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, or Hack.
