
Sr. DNS Engineer

Responsibilities
- Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms on public cloud platforms.
- Design, develop, debug, and operate resilient distributed systems across thousands of compute nodes and multiple data centers.
- Develop Infrastructure-as-Code and microservices using containerization and orchestration frameworks.
- Resolve complex technical issues and improve system availability, resilience, and performance.
- Balance live-site management, feature delivery, and technical-debt reduction.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to address real-time operational issues and maintain highly available services.
- Configure, deploy, manage, and maintain large cloud-hosted systems and infrastructure automation platforms.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend software development experience with Python and cloud architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Linux systems administration, troubleshooting, servers, cloud architecture, and Linux internals.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
- Experience with public cloud engineering on GCP, AWS, or Azure, including cloud-scale provisioning, infrastructure, and migration.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or similar container and orchestration systems.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Splunk, Puppet, Spinnaker, Terraform, and Git.
- Strong knowledge of DNS, load balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, SQL, HTTP, switches, and routers.
- CI/CD experience with Jenkins or Travis CI and experience implementing large infrastructure projects.
- Experience with configuration-management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Salt, or Ansible.
- Experience maintaining monitoring platforms such as Grafana.
- Experience with Agile development methodology and Test Driven Development.
- Preferred experience with AWS Route 53, highly available 24x7x365 multi-datacenter environments, packet and network analysis, troubleshooting, analytical fault diagnosis, and DNSSEC security hardening.
- Strong communication, critical-thinking, continuous-learning, and teamwork abilities.

- The listed base salary ranges are $148,500-$223,900 annually, or $178,900-$246,000 annually in select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas.
