Base Salary
$137k - $160k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, tune, and maintain AI/ML-driven threat detection and response capabilities across cloud, endpoint, identity, network, and data environments.
- Detect and defend against AI-enabled and AI-targeted attacks, including prompt injection, model poisoning, data leakage, adversarial ML, and automated social engineering.
- Engineer high-fidelity detections across SIEM and security platforms and continuously improve their precision and efficacy.
- Define security controls for AI systems covering model access, training data protection, inference security, and logging.
- Partner with data science and engineering teams on secure AI lifecycle practices and assess risks from third-party AI platforms.
- Map AI security capabilities to NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, MITRE ATLAS, and OWASP AI/LLM Top 10.
- Produce architecture diagrams, security patterns, implementation guidance, and audit-ready documentation.
- Support incident response for AI-driven threats or compromised AI systems and research emerging AI threat techniques.
- Lead proofs of concept applying AI to detection engineering and security automation.
- Serve as a technical authority, mentor, and advisor to security, risk, engineering, and executive stakeholders without formal people-management duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, detection engineering, or security operations.
- Demonstrated experience applying AI or ML techniques to security use cases.
- Strong knowledge of cloud, identity, endpoint, network, and data security.
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms, telemetry pipelines, and detection engineering tools.
- Ability to work independently and deliver production-quality security capabilities.
- Eligible to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Preferred: experience securing LLMs or AI platforms in production and familiarity with secure AI development or MLOps security practices.
- Preferred: scripting or automation experience with Python or PowerShell and experience in regulated or highly audited environments.
