Responsibilities
- Investigate system problems by examining code, writing SQL queries, reading logs, and inspecting data pipelines.
- Write and ship production code that improves Stripe’s payment operations.
- Build automation, reconciliation tooling, certificate management workflows, and other durable operational solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and design discussions while giving and receiving technical feedback.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders and clearly communicate work status and findings.
Requirements
- Be pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, information systems, data science, or a related discipline.
- Have programming experience through side projects or classwork; the team primarily uses Ruby, Go, and Python.
- Have experience with previous internships or multi-person projects, including open source contributions, demonstrating the ability to evaluate and receive feedback.
- Be able to learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and mentorship.
- Preferred: at least two years of university education or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred: familiarity with SQL, data work, developer tools such as Git, systems debugging, data engineering, or financial data analysis.
