Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and deliver robust cloud-based solutions and shared foundational components for travel and fintech products.
- Use programming languages, databases, container orchestration services, and AWS tools to build scalable systems.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Refactor systems, reduce technical debt, improve performance, and influence long-term technology strategy.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to internal and external technology communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, 7+ years coding with multiple listed languages, and experience with databases, cloud platforms, open source frameworks, front-end frameworks, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, and cloud troubleshooting.
- Preferred experience includes AI-based coding tools, interactive AI tooling, mentoring engineers, observability, distributed-system performance optimization, cross-functional engineering leadership, and enforcing coding standards and design patterns.

- Full-time annual salary ranges vary by location: $197,300-$225,100 in McLean, Virginia, and $215,200-$245,600 in New York, New York.
- The role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
