Base Salary
$87k - $198k/yr
Responsibilities
- Modernize legacy software supporting Navy combat systems.
- Perform hands-on analysis of legacy system complexity and interpret sparse or outdated documentation and interfaces.
- Develop, debug, test, and integrate system-level software using Rust and C/C++.
- Deploy advanced development tools and work with containerization and CI/CD tooling.
- Engage with clients daily to execute targeted enhancements.
- Work across Linux and Windows environments.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software development experience with Rust and C/C++, including debugging, testing, and system-level programming.
- Experience with memory management, modularity, and design patterns.
- Experience with Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes and CI/CD tooling.
- Experience with Linux, Git, SSH, command-line tooling, and networking fundamentals.
- Ability to work in Linux and Windows environments and interpret sparse or outdated documentation.
- Secret clearance is required, or applicants must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Preferred qualifications include Python for tooling, scripting, and test automation; legacy software modernization; Navy submarine or surface combat systems; Kafka, NATS, gRPC, or Redpanda; Prometheus or Grafana; real-time acoustic, sonar, or signal-processing systems; and emerging developer tooling such as local LLMs, vector databases, or AI workflow automation.
- Candidates must complete Booz Allen’s required skills assessment and meet the minimum proficiency threshold.
