Responsibilities
- Conduct tests and perform analyses of embedded software in launch vehicles, spacecraft, CubeSats, and other space systems.
- Develop component models for software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, and emulator-based simulators.
- Develop and maintain simulations supporting software validation, on-orbit anomaly resolution, and day-of-launch mission assurance.
- Develop tools and techniques to improve analysis and simulation capabilities.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges, propose solutions, and contribute innovative ideas to projects.
Requirements
- Be currently enrolled full-time in an accredited bachelor’s degree program in aerospace engineering, computer engineering or science, mechanical or electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a related discipline.
- Work full-time for at least 10 weeks outside the university term and return to a bachelor’s degree program full-time after the internship.
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Have some programming background or experience in Java, C, C++, or Python.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.
- Provide transcripts.
- Preferred qualifications include a GPA of 3.5 or higher, relevant dynamics, controls, modeling and simulation, spacecraft or launch vehicle coursework or projects, software development process experience, machine learning or AI development, Model Based Systems Engineering familiarity, embedded processor experience, and real-time embedded software experience.
