Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain, implement, and automate performance test scenarios based on non-functional requirements.
- Maintain traceability across non-functional requirements, performance test scenarios, and defects.
- Review test scenarios with development teams, business stakeholders, and other collaborators.
- Track defects to closure, report test results, supervise execution progress, and escalate issues as needed.
- Contribute to delivery-pipeline adoption for performance testing and improve performance-testing practices.
- Identify and manage testing environment and data requirements with development and testing teams.
- Mentor team members on performance test coverage, scenarios, and non-functional requirements.
- Develop product and architecture understanding related to application performance and scalability.
- Work with development and architecture teams to improve test coverage and recommend performance improvements.
- Align risk and control processes with daily responsibilities and escalate risks appropriately.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in Linux/Unix and shell scripting.
- Hands-on experience coding and scripting complex business logic and test scenarios.
- Experience with JMS and IBM MQ messaging systems, including administering MQ systems.
- Experience with multi-technology end-to-end testing across distributed and mainframe systems.
- Experience in performance engineering, including analysis, testing, and tuning.
- Experience developing n-tier and J2EE software applications.
- Experience analyzing performance on Linux, Windows, AWS, containers, and VMware platforms.
- Experience with performance and monitoring tools including Dynatrace, Grafana, AppDynamics, Splunk, CloudWatch, and TeamQuest.
- Experience with statistical and analytical modeling, data exploration, descriptive statistics, graphical techniques, and performance-metric relationship modeling.
- Understanding of queuing-network and simulation-modeling concepts, with experience using an industry-standard analytical modeling tool such as TeamQuest, Metron-Athenee, HyPerformix, or BMC.
- Understanding of RESTful web services, JSON, and XML.
- Experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, including openly keeping stakeholders informed.
