Base Salary
$122k - $140k/yr
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and operation of cloud-native services and platform capabilities under senior-engineer guidance.
- Write maintainable code primarily in Java or Python and participate in peer design and code reviews.
- Implement defined features and resolve assigned bugs, technical debt, and security fixes.
- Build unit, functional, and integration tests for robust and resilient products.
- Learn and apply Kubernetes, container, cloud, networking, and distributed-systems concepts.
- Participate in requirements clarification, delivery, deployment, observability, and production support.
- Communicate progress, questions, and risks and collaborate with engineering and product management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience; relevant internships and co-ops count.
- Foundational programming experience in Java, Python, or a comparable modern language through coursework, internships, co-ops, projects, or professional work.
- Understanding of software engineering concepts, data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and software testing.
- Ability to apply basic problem-solving techniques, follow established guidelines, and learn professional concepts.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Passion for software development, cybersecurity, and learning new technologies in a collaborative environment.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP at the API or programming level is beneficial.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, Spring or similar ecosystems, Docker, Kubernetes, CloudFormation, or Terraform is beneficial.
- Coursework, internship, co-op, or project experience with distributed systems, cloud services, networking, or security controls is beneficial.
- Familiarity with common software design patterns and developer testing practices is beneficial.
