Responsibilities
- Develop firmware supporting AMD proprietary and industry-standard interconnect technologies, including PCIe, CXL, MCTP, UBM, and USB4.
- Collaborate with BIOS, power management, architecture, design, and verification teams to deliver integrated firmware solutions.
- Develop low-level firmware for embedded systems in an RTOS environment.
- Perform pre-silicon validation through IP co-simulation and SoC emulation.
- Support post-silicon enablement, silicon bring-up, production cycles, and the complete embedded firmware design lifecycle.
- Debug firmware in the lab, triage issues, implement silicon bring-up fixes, and support firmware integration testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Science, or Computer Science.
- Strong firmware development background and technical knowledge, with hardware and embedded-application experience preferred.
- Specialist-level proficiency in C and strong proficiency in C++ or Python.
- Hands-on experience with end-to-end firmware development from pre-silicon through post-silicon and production.
- Experience with device-driver or embedded firmware development, Zephyr RTOS, communication protocols, firmware integration testing, and pre- and post-silicon debugging.
- Comfort working in a Linux build environment and understanding hardware-software system integration.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, communication, presentation, and independent-working skills.
