Responsibilities
- Provide low-level support for Swing and Compose for desktop to improve the appearance and performance of IntelliJ-based IDEs.
- Develop features such as Java Chromium Embedded Framework support and participate in OpenJDK projects including Lanai and Wakefield.
- Fix JetBrains Runtime issues, with most changes targeted for upstreaming to OpenJDK.
- Optimize and refactor code written by yourself and others.
Requirements
- Have 4+ years of C or C++ programming experience.
- Have solid knowledge of Java and JVM internals and a deep understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Have multithreaded programming experience.
- Be familiar with system or UI application development on Unix, Windows, or macOS using technologies such as Cocoa, GNOME, or Win32 API.
- Have in-depth knowledge of modern hardware-accelerated APIs such as Metal, Vulkan, OpenGL, or D3D.
- Demonstrate a responsible, independent, disciplined, and collaborative approach to work.
- Preferred qualifications include knowledge of Objective-C or Kotlin, familiarity with Cocoa, X11, and Wayland, and deep knowledge of JVM architecture.
