Responsibilities

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle for embedded Android/Linux products, from design and development through testing, release support, and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain embedded software, BSP components, platform integrations, device drivers, hardware interfaces, and new device features using C/C++.
  • Configure, bring up, deploy, optimize, and debug Embedded Linux and Android platforms on ARM-based hardware.
  • Debug system issues across Android HAL, Android Framework, and Linux Kernel layers, including performance problems, defects, and hardware/software integration issues.
  • Support control system, digital media, and unified communications products, including field escalations for new and legacy products.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, Android, Linux, and application engineers across international teams.
  • Prepare technical documentation such as test procedures, design notes, troubleshooting information, and implementation details.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience developing, customizing, and debugging embedded software or firmware for Linux and/or Android-based products.
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills in embedded or system-level development environments.
  • Hands-on Embedded Linux experience on ARM-based platforms, including configuration, builds, deployment, hardware interfaces, and platform bring-up.
  • Experience with Linux Kernel, U-Boot, Device Tree, device drivers, and low-level platform customization.
  • Experience developing, optimizing, troubleshooting, and extending display, power management, Wi-Fi, GPIO, or other hardware interfaces.
  • Hands-on Android HAL experience and ability to debug across Android Framework and Linux Kernel layers.
  • Good understanding of AOSP architecture, Android platform workflows, and recent Android versions, preferably Android 14 or later.
  • Experience with Git, Gerrit, GitHub, ADB, and Fastboot.
  • Ability to debug embedded systems with limited or unavailable traditional step-debugging support.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and collaborate with hardware engineering teams.
  • Experience with Android framework services, Android Native applications using JNI/NDK, Java or Kotlin system applications, OpenGL ES, Camera, Display, Media, connectivity subsystems, Bash, or Python is beneficial.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is advantageous.
