Responsibilities
- Build and operate a platform for development and operations teams to provision infrastructure and run applications in cloud and on-premises environments.
- Deliver and maintain a continuous integration and deployment platform integrated with existing development tools.
- Improve developer experience by enabling self-service cloud infrastructure provisioning and application deployment.
- Develop IaC and CI/CD policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Automate repetitive tasks and improve workflows and toolchains using scripting and automation tools.
- Apply security and governance practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate on architectural design and cloud best practices.
- Support platform users, participate in on-call duties, perform maintenance, and respond to support escalations.
- Promote DevOps practices across the technology organization and mentor junior engineers.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal risk, conduct, and policy frameworks.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with development and operations teams throughout the SDLC, implementing CI/CD, and deploying to cloud environments using Terraform or similar IaC tools.
- Considerable experience deploying and securely operating applications in AWS or Azure, with familiarity with cloud-native tooling and cloud security best practices.
- Experience building and operating containerized workloads and using serverless technology.
- Proficiency in Python or PowerShell scripting.
- Familiarity with Puppet or Ansible is desirable.
- Experience with cloud monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana is desirable.
- Broad technical knowledge with a background in Linux engineering or development and automation is desirable.
- Experience working in a fast-moving Agile environment using Scrum or Kanban is desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication, collaboration, relationship-building, influencing, curiosity, resilience, and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
