Responsibilities
- Lead architectural design and technical implementation of scalable, maintainable, reliable, and secure software solutions.
- Develop and maintain Java enterprise software using Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architectures.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain secure source code in Government-owned Git repositories.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to software engineering teams.
- Conduct peer code reviews and promote architecture, coding, and secure development best practices.
- Ensure automated quality and security requirements through continuous integration, automated testing, and SAST.
- Analyze and remediate software vulnerabilities, including Blocker, Critical, and High findings.
- Lead technical debt remediation and maintain software quality metrics, including test coverage, SonarQube ratings, and code documentation.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on DoD RMF processes and STIG requirements.
- Research and evaluate AI/ML, low-code/no-code, and AI-assisted software development technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience developing Java enterprise applications.
- Strong experience with Java enterprise development, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architectures.
- Experience with SonarQube, GitLab CI/CD, and SAST tools.
- Experience developing secure software in a DevSecOps environment.
- Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
- Experience supporting DoD cybersecurity requirements, including RMF and STIG compliance.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, secure coding, and modern development methodologies.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include DoD software modernization or mission application experience, AI/ML integration, AI-assisted development tools, cloud-native architectures, DevSecOps, and mentoring or leading software engineering teams.
