Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate software supporting vision-based navigation, autonomy, cooperative behaviors, and mission systems.
  • Implement systems in C++ and Kotlin and develop cross-platform applications for Android, Linux, and Windows.
  • Design SDK interfaces and APIs for internal and external integration with AV systems.
  • Perform hands-on field testing with robots to validate features.
  • Translate software requirements into algorithm and system designs and evaluate product design tradeoffs.
  • Collaborate with software teams to reuse software across programs and provide guidance to less experienced engineers.
  • Deliver work according to project schedules and budgets and occasionally travel for customer or testing events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong fluency in modern C++, maintainable software architecture, and modular system design.
  • Experience with CMake or similar build systems, mechatronic or hardware-integrated software, computer networking, and system requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, structure complex systems, and communicate with technical and non-technical customers.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret clearance if required and willingness to travel occasionally.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, and applicants must provide documentation verifying U.S. person status for ITAR/EAR compliance.
  • Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree, safety-critical software knowledge, experience with UAS, drones, robotics, autonomous vehicles, or embedded systems, and experience with Android/Linux applications, Docker, networking protocols, APIs, and SDKs.
