Responsibilities

  • Bring up new hardware from scratch and develop device trees and boot chains.
  • Develop wireless firmware for ARM Cortex hardware platforms.
  • Own the firmware development cycle and ensure high product quality.
  • Track tasks using bug-tracking software and document work in a shared knowledge base.
  • Influence hardware design for future products.
  • Work with test engineers to resolve issues and collaborate across engineering disciplines.
  • Share best practices through firmware engineering chapters.
  • Occasionally provide technical support to customers, including weekend or after-hours support.

Requirements

  • Formal qualifications in electronics or software engineering.
  • At least 5 years of firmware development experience.
  • Demonstrated programming experience with C, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with wireless communications standards and protocols including UWB, BLE, Wi-Fi, and long-range/low-bit-rate applications.
  • Experience developing, scaling, and supporting products throughout their entire lifecycle.
  • Experience bringing up new hardware from scratch.
  • Experience with Atlassian’s platform for defect tracking and documentation is highly desired.
  • Experience with Git source code management.
  • Experience in signal processing and algorithm design is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems, particularly Yocto, is desired.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-starting ability, prioritization skills, and a can-do attitude.
