Responsibilities
- Bring up new hardware from scratch and develop device trees and boot chains.
- Develop wireless firmware for ARM Cortex hardware platforms.
- Own the firmware development cycle and ensure high product quality.
- Track tasks using bug-tracking software and document work in a shared knowledge base.
- Influence hardware design for future products.
- Work with test engineers to resolve issues and collaborate across engineering disciplines.
- Share best practices through firmware engineering chapters.
- Occasionally provide technical support to customers, including weekend or after-hours support.
Requirements
- Formal qualifications in electronics or software engineering.
- At least 5 years of firmware development experience.
- Demonstrated programming experience with C, C++, and Python.
- Experience with wireless communications standards and protocols including UWB, BLE, Wi-Fi, and long-range/low-bit-rate applications.
- Experience developing, scaling, and supporting products throughout their entire lifecycle.
- Experience bringing up new hardware from scratch.
- Experience with Atlassian’s platform for defect tracking and documentation is highly desired.
- Experience with Git source code management.
- Experience in signal processing and algorithm design is highly desired.
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems, particularly Yocto, is desired.
- Strong attention to detail, self-starting ability, prioritization skills, and a can-do attitude.
