Responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end AI/ML model research and development from literature review through production deployment and monitoring.
- Research and develop machine learning and computer vision algorithms for public safety, video security, and other mission-critical applications.
- Develop models for speech, natural language, audio, object detection, tracking, re-identification, video search, scene understanding, and foundational-model adaptation as applicable.
- Optimize models for latency, throughput, computational efficiency, real-time operation, and edge deployment.
- Collaborate on dataset creation, annotation, quality control, and training-data pipeline optimization.
- Create prototypes, review research papers, generate applied computer vision patents, and collaborate with product and software development teams.
- Establish metric-driven model evaluation using measures such as Precision, Recall, and F1-Score.
- Deploy vision and AI models into enterprise-scale cloud and edge platforms and improve machine learning deployment processes and tools.
Requirements
- PhD in a technical field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in applied AI research.
- Deep understanding of Transformer architectures and Vision-Language Models.
- Experience programming in Python and using deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Preferred experience with C++ and embedded systems.
- Preferred experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Ability to write clean, efficient, well-documented production-level code.
