Responsibilities
- Maintain and scale the existing Amazon RDS database fleet using Terraform and automated performance-tuning strategies.
- Build proactive monitoring and alerting for the global database fleet using Java-based data collection pipelines and metrics platforms.
- Design and implement business continuity planning and disaster recovery automation to support data durability and rapid regional recovery.
- Use CloudNativePG and cloud-native patterns to enable cross-cloud database portability.
- Develop Java microservices for database monitoring, automated failover, and replication workflows.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including query execution, indexing, locking, and performance tuning.
- Experience driving infrastructure and database orchestration programmatically with Terraform and custom Java automation.
- Interest or experience in multi-tenant and multi-region distributed data platforms, data integrity, relational modeling, and data mobility.
- A security and observability mindset, including experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Dash0, Sentry, or Humio and automated security guardrails in Java services.
