Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize core I/O infrastructure for a high-performance distributed file system.
- Architect scalable concurrency, synchronization, scheduling, resource allocation, QoS, and distributed locking mechanisms.
- Integrate and optimize SPDK for direct hardware access and improved storage performance.
- Develop system software in C/C++ and lead scalable storage and file system infrastructure initiatives.
- Own the full software development lifecycle from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, and production support.
- Conduct technical investigations, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and architectural reviews.
- Document technical decisions, mentor engineers, and influence technical strategy and roadmap planning.
- Collaborate with globally distributed and cross-functional teams to support product deployment and resolve production issues.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in system software development and complex problem resolution.
- Expert-level proficiency in C/C++.
- Extensive Linux development and deployment experience, including file system development.
- Deep understanding of operating system principles, kernel architecture, and system internals.
- Strong experience with GCC, GDB, G++, and Git.
- Experience designing and developing parallel and concurrent software systems.
- Experience with user-space I/O frameworks such as SPDK.
- Experience developing high-performance storage systems focused on latency, throughput, scalability, and resource efficiency.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives through influence and mentor engineering teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Preferred experience with RDMA, libfabric, verbs, zero-copy technologies, high-performance interconnects, performance analysis, profiling, benchmarking, TCP/IP, distributed storage, distributed file systems, coordination and consensus systems, cloud-native infrastructure, observability, and large-scale production deployments.
