Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain reliable, performant, and secure features for the ReadID SaaS backend.
- Deploy, configure, and monitor containerized services running on Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated releases and reliable deployments.
- Write clean, modular, well-tested code and participate in unit and integration testing.
- Collaborate on release testing and validation across mobile platforms and international identity documents.
- Participate in infrastructure automation, observability, troubleshooting, incident management, and platform improvements.
- Work with cross-functional teammates through sprints, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Participate in periodic 24/7 on-call shifts supporting platform reliability.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Solid working experience with server-side Java, such as Java 17+, Spring, Spring Boot, or Jakarta EE.
- Practical experience or hands-on exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP or AWS cloud environments.
- Understanding of APIs, JSON/XML, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Understanding of application security principles, secure coding practices, and OWASP fundamentals.
- Professional proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
- Curious, problem-solving approach with willingness to learn, ask questions, and take ownership.
- Exposure to observability and logging tools such as ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, or Cloud Monitoring is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Terraform or GitOps concepts is beneficial.
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and Angular is beneficial.
- Relevant Google Cloud or Kubernetes certifications, such as Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer, CKAD, or CKA, is beneficial.
- Located within commuting distance of Enschede or willing to relocate, and comfortable working from the office at least two days per week.
