Base Salary
$131k - $218k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end AI-powered healthcare solutions.
- Integrate LLMs, voice and image recognition, and document parsing into EHRs and clinical systems.
- Build secure, HIPAA-compliant data pipelines for structured and unstructured healthcare data.
- Develop and evaluate models for clinical NLP, medical imaging, patient risk stratification, and care personalization.
- Build retrieval-augmented generation systems, custom AI agents, and spec-driven tools.
- Apply prompt tuning, caching, benchmarking, and model evaluation techniques.
- Ensure AI systems meet regulatory, ethical, and healthcare compliance standards.
- Rapidly prototype and iterate on AI concepts with product representatives.
- Mentor junior engineers and help shape the strategic direction of AI initiatives.
- Communicate AI concepts to clinical and executive stakeholders and lead cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of software engineering experience, with 4 or more years of AI/ML development preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience building AI solutions in healthcare or life sciences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Deep understanding of HL7, FHIR, HIPAA, and GDPR.
- Experience building AI models for clinical NLP, medical imaging, patient risk stratification, and care personalization.
- Experience building RAG systems using Pydantic, Semantic Kernel, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and vector databases.
- Experience creating custom AI agents or spec-driven tools and writing skills for Claude, Copilot, or Codex.
- Proficiency in Python, Node.js, and modern web frameworks.
- Experience with secure AWS, GCP, or Azure environments, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with OpenAI, Hugging Face, PydanticAI, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and healthcare-specific AI libraries.
- Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Benefits
- Base pay range is $131,000 to $218,300.
- Additional compensation such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
- Benefits are provided through McKesson’s Total Rewards program.
- Priority is given to candidates residing in the Columbus, Ohio, or Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan areas.
