Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy production-ready code for vehicle platform software.
  • Identify problems, design solutions, and account for tradeoffs and edge cases.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and design reviews.
  • Collaborate with hardware, systems, test, and safety teams on software integration.
  • Provide observability and troubleshooting support for production systems.
  • Ramp up on assigned codebases, product areas, and systems and complete tasks efficiently.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full time in a degree-seeking bachelor's or master's program in computer science or a related field.
  • Experience with modern object-oriented programming languages such as Python or C++.
  • Ability to work full time, 40 hours per week.
  • Preferred: software engineering experience from an internship, work experience, coding competition, or publication.
  • Preferred: experience developing on and for Linux, building and shipping production software, networking, safety-critical development, or software-hardware integration for autonomous or robotic systems.
  • Preferred: intent to return to the degree program after the internship and graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.

Benefits

  • Monthly base salary of $9,600-$10,300.
  • One-time taxable stipend for eligible students to help facilitate relocation benefits.
  • Hybrid internship in Sunnyvale, California, with reporting to the office up to three times per week or as determined by the team.
  • Full-time summer internship requiring 40 hours per week.
