Responsibilities
- Implement novel control architectures in MATLAB and embedded C++.
- Test controller performance systematically in simulation and on robot hardware.
- Create simulation environments using constrained rigid-body dynamics and realistic texture and lighting.
- Synthesize simulated environments from video data, including geometry, texture, and inferred stiffness.
- Run closed-loop round-trip tests by training controllers in simulation, testing them experimentally, and using experimental data to create new simulation environments.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking program after the internship.
- Pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Must be available to work full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, for a 10–12 week internship beginning in May or June.
- Preferred experience with MATLAB and/or Python for control system design and analysis.
- Preferred experience with MuJoCo or similar constrained rigid-body dynamics simulators and sim-to-real transfer methods.
- Preferred familiarity with NVIDIA Isaac Sim, embedded C++, video-based 3D reconstruction, environment synthesis, and autonomous or semi-autonomous control architectures.
