Responsibilities

  • Develop, debug, and enhance embedded firmware for electrification and autonomous projects.
  • Help investigate, define, and specify innovative new products.
  • Design and implement electronics and firmware solutions with engineering team members.
  • Resolve integration challenges involving electronics, software applications, and developers.
  • Collaborate with electronic, system, and software design engineers to optimize product performance.
  • Validate and test electronics and embedded software.
  • Assist with defining interfaces and optimizing hardware/software performance.
  • Create hardware and firmware design and validation documentation.

Requirements

  • Currently be a junior or senior student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Have an interest in embedded systems and familiarity with embedded firmware development for 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers using C/C++.
  • Have familiarity with communication protocols including SPI, I2C, RS232, and CAN.
  • Have a strong understanding of hardware and software integration.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of desktop application development in C++/C# is preferred.
  • Demonstrate communication, problem-solving, teamwork, self-motivation, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

Benefits

  • The internship runs from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027, and candidates must be available for the full program.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Interns receive 8 hours of paid volunteer time.
  • The company offers a casual corporate environment and summer hours at certain locations.
  • Anticipated compensation is $22–$28 per hour.
