Base Salary

$168k - $268k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain translation layers between agent planning logic and laboratory instrument control across Hamilton, Tecan, Opentrons, LC/MS, NMR, and HPLC systems.
  • Connect experimental readouts to ELN/LIMS and downstream data pipelines to produce traceable, model-ready data.
  • Build multi-agent systems with orchestration, state management, error recovery, tool integration, memory systems, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
  • Transition prototypes into reliable laboratory operations in partnership with scientists and automation engineers.
  • Deploy and maintain containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes, and integrate Argo-based cloud orchestration with laboratory control systems.
  • Collaborate with NVIDIA engineers and researchers, Lilly scientists, vendors, open-source communities, and academic researchers.

Requirements

  • PhD, or MS plus 3 years or BS plus 5 years of equivalent experience, in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated wet-lab automation experience and direct experience integrating software control or AI systems with laboratory automation platforms, analytical instruments, or robotic workflows.
  • Strong production experience with Docker and Kubernetes-based orchestration.
  • Experience building scalable production-grade Python applications using Redis, FastAPI, Flask or Streamlit, and pytest.
  • Experience building production LLM agent or multi-agent systems that call real tools.
  • Preferred experience with LLM post-training, fine-tuning, RLHF, self-driving labs, autonomous experimentation, or high-throughput experimentation.
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA BioNeMo, CUDA, and Omniverse.
  • Research experience demonstrated through project contributions and ideally publications in relevant ML/NLP or chemistry venues.
  • Experience mentoring interns, students, or junior engineers is preferred but not required.
