Responsibilities
- Own QA projects end-to-end and maintain high-quality standards across teams.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated frontend and backend tests using Playwright and TypeScript.
- Improve the QA automation codebase through stronger typing, reusable abstractions, linting and tooling standards, and code reviews.
- Define and drive adoption of test pyramid guidelines covering unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Perform manual and exploratory testing, document and verify defects, analyze test results, and monitor testing metrics.
- Participate in project kick-offs, influence testability, and communicate risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Mentor teammates on TypeScript proficiency, Playwright practices, and test automation standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience as a QA Engineer or Software Engineer in Test.
- Deep proficiency in TypeScript, including advanced typing and code architecture, and strong Playwright skills.
- Experience defining and rolling out test pyramid guidelines with engineering teams.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and experience creating and maintaining containerized test environments.
- Strong communication, collaboration, attention to detail, and ability to influence technical and product teams.
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving TypeScript and test automation standards across teams.
- AI literacy and the ability to use AI tools productively with sound judgment and critical thinking.
- Experience with Ruby on Rails, observability and error tracking tools, or performance testing is preferred.
