Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated UI, API, microservices, integration, contract, and schema-validation test suites.
- Build scalable, reusable automation frameworks and utilities using JavaScript/TypeScript and maintain them in GitHub.
- Create automated validations for distributed systems, service-to-service flows, queue-based messaging, and API contracts.
- Partner with developers and product teams on test strategies, acceptance criteria, quality gates, and user-centric testing.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure consistent, reliable execution.
- Support exploratory, UAT, end-to-end, performance, and accessibility testing as needed.
- Contribute to code quality, observability, automation design, and performance-testing practices.
- Participate in pull requests, code reviews, branching strategies, and reusable automation-library development.
- Mentor team members and support internal learning initiatives.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience in QA automation or test engineering.
- Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript-based test automation.
- Expertise with WebdriverIO and/or Playwright.
- Experience designing and maintaining UI, API, and integration test automation.
- Experience with BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or similar cloud testing platforms.
- Ability to design, maintain, and scale automation frameworks, preferably with Node.js/TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of API testing, contract testing, schema validation, microservices, distributed systems, and API communication patterns.
- Knowledge of Cucumber and BDD frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and strong Git skills, including branching, code reviews, and pull-request quality.
- Ability to write and understand SQL queries and good understanding of HTML, CSS, and the DOM.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum collaboration and strong communication, ownership, initiative, and continuous-learning skills.
- Preferred: familiarity with AWS Lambda or Azure Functions, performance testing with k6 or Gatling, and accessibility testing principles including WCAG 2.1 AA.
