Responsibilities
- Own the app hosting and deployment pipeline and the runtime serving user applications in production.
- Manage and operate composable managed services for storage, logging, workflows, and related platform capabilities.
- Build and maintain custom-domain infrastructure with reliable SSL provisioning and DNS management at scale.
- Evaluate vendors, onboard services, negotiate contracts, plan migrations, and hold vendors accountable for SLAs.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, incident response, runbooks, capacity planning, and other operational-excellence practices.
- Operate and improve infrastructure with attention to uptime, latency percentiles, cost per request, and blast radius.
Requirements
- Experience building and operating distributed systems.
- Ideally 6+ years of experience in running and developing systems.
- Strong background in platform engineering, SRE, or infrastructure operations.
- Deep understanding of multitenant app hosting infrastructure, container orchestration, or edge runtimes.
- Experience evaluating services, negotiating vendor contracts, planning migrations, and managing vendor SLAs.
- Experience with massively multitenant control planes is a plus.
- Experience operating Cloudflare Workers, Pages, R2, or D1 at scale is a plus.
- Hands-on contributions to cloud infrastructure or CNCF projects such as Kubernetes or Envoy are a plus.
- Familiarity with ClickHouse or other columnar databases for log analytics is a plus.
- Experience with managed database services such as Supabase, Neon, AWS Aurora, or Google Cloud SQL is a plus.
- Cost-optimization experience involving meaningful infrastructure cost reduction is a plus.
