Responsibilities
- Develop Java applications and software solutions using Java 17+.
- Use Spring Boot, Hibernate, relational databases, SQL, and data access patterns to build enterprise applications.
- Build and deploy cloud-based services, preferably on AWS.
- Develop and work with APIs, authentication and authorization patterns, and observability conventions.
- Create automated tests using JUnit, mocking frameworks, and Testcontainers.
- Deploy services using Terraform and work with source control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with technical peers and stakeholders and contribute to software, libraries, or frameworks consumed by multiple development teams.
Requirements
- Hands-on Java software engineering experience with proficiency in Java 17+ and strong knowledge of core Java, generics, reflection, concurrency, the type system, runtime behavior, and the memory model.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, JUnit, mocking frameworks, relational databases, SQL, Docker, Terraform, and cloud-based solutions.
- Knowledge of API standards, authentication and authorization patterns, observability conventions, source control, and CI/CD pipelines; GitHub Actions and Datadog are preferred.
- Experience with Java APIs, Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), relational database management systems, AWS development, and core Java.
- Preferred experience with non-relational persistence technologies such as DynamoDB and with software, libraries, or frameworks used by multiple development teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology, or a master’s degree in Software Engineering.
- Oracle Certified Java Associate certification is listed.
