Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services integrating with external payment service providers for payment initiation and status retrieval.
- Develop reliable and secure webhook and callback handlers for asynchronous payment events.
- Implement encrypted data exchange, managed secrets, API gateway protections, and cloud security controls.
- Define and maintain documented APIs validated through automated checks.
- Manage infrastructure as code and deploy services on serverless, container-based cloud platforms.
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for testing, validation, release automation, and deployment.
- Support production through monitoring, incident triage, root-cause analysis, and payment status reconciliation.
- Contribute to platform and edge improvements, technical documentation, and collaboration with platform teams and external providers.
Requirements
- Strong backend experience with Kotlin, or Java with readiness to work in Kotlin, using Micronaut or Spring Boot.
- Hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience across serverless compute, messaging, load balancing, security, and secret management.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and OpenAPI specifications and working with API gateways.
- Understanding of webhook and callback patterns, idempotency, retries, and failure handling.
- Working knowledge of encryption and secure data exchange.
- Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and GitHub Actions or an equivalent CI/CD tool.
- Strong unit, integration, and contract testing practices and observability experience.
- Preferred experience with payments or fintech, PSP integrations, reconciliation, PCI-DSS awareness, CDN and edge security, TypeScript, React, regional payment methods, regulatory guidelines, event-driven architectures, microservices, Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, or Grafana.
