Responsibilities
- Design, build, support, and improve secure cloud platforms and services.
- Develop infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, and deployment automation.
- Collaborate with customers, architects, security specialists, and engineering teams to deliver secure cloud solutions.
- Monitor, operate, troubleshoot, and continually improve cloud platforms for availability, resilience, and performance.
- Contribute to cloud security, risk management, compliance, and secure-by-design activities.
- Evaluate emerging tools and approaches, participate in peer reviews and engineering standards, and share technical knowledge.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to team capability and technical leadership.
Requirements
- Experience working with cloud platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience designing, deploying, supporting, or improving cloud infrastructure and services.
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code approaches, automation tooling, cloud networking, security, and operational best practices.
- Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues in modern infrastructure environments.
- Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary engineering teams and communicate technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms is desirable.
- Experience with scripting or software development languages, CI/CD delivery practices, cloud security controls, compliance frameworks, highly available services, or secure and regulated environments is desirable.
- AWS certifications or equivalent cloud qualifications and experience mentoring colleagues or providing technical leadership are desirable.
- Eligibility for UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance is required; applicants must typically be sole British citizens who have lived continuously in the UK for the previous 10 years, subject to government vetting requirements.
