Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, multi-tenant, fault-tolerant, and secure cloud-native SaaS services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build event-driven microservices and integrations with Kafka and SAP S/4HANA.
- Provision and operate Kubernetes infrastructure on SAP BTP using Gardener, Kyma, Infrastructure as Code, Helm, monitoring, and alerting.
- Improve GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines and automate the software delivery lifecycle.
- Design and build AI agents and agentic workflows involving LLM integration, tool calling, multi-step orchestration, and MCP.
- Expose services as tools for agents and establish effective practices for agentic coding tools.
- Own technical feature design, document and present key decisions, and advise product owners and team members on feasibility and readiness.
- Ensure clean code, automated testing, monitoring, incident handling, reuse of components, and continuous product and process improvements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor less experienced developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of professional software development experience delivering complex cloud-based solutions.
- Excellent Java skills and solid experience with Spring Boot, REST, OData, asynchronous and event-driven communication, object-oriented design, design patterns, and microservice architecture.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, production operations, monitoring, alerting, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and cluster provisioning.
- Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and messaging or streaming platforms such as Kafka.
- First practical experience with or strong interest in agent development, including LLM APIs, agent frameworks, tool calling, MCP, RAG, prompt and context engineering, and agentic coding tools.
- Knowledge of SAP BTP, Kyma, Gardener, or SAP S/4HANA integration and SAP supply chain or order management processes is preferred.
- Fluent spoken and written German and English.
