Responsibilities
- Own the reliability, monitoring, alerting, observability, incident response, and post-mortems for RobCo’s infrastructure.
- Build and maintain AWS cloud and edge infrastructure supporting robots in the field.
- Write infrastructure tooling and automation using Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Develop and ship Go, Python, or other services and tooling.
- Implement cloud security practices including IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, encryption, and least-privilege access.
- Reduce operational toil through automation and support deployments, capacity planning, and cost optimization.
- Build and support the developer platform and MLOps pipelines that move models into production.
- Make architectural decisions, establish standards, and mentor other team members.
Requirements
- Senior-level background in DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Hands-on AWS experience, including EKS, RDS, S3, and EC2.
- Proficiency in tooling or backend development, including the ability to work with Go or Python.
- Experience deploying, operating, and troubleshooting Kubernetes workloads.
- Strong production cloud security experience with IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, encryption, and least-privilege access.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog and with incident management.
