Responsibilities

  • Lead software engineering squads delivering high-quality applications and systems using AI and machine learning for personalised customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, architecture, and other stakeholders to define squad roadmaps, scope, and deliverables.
  • Mentor, coach, hire, and develop engineering talent while supporting career growth.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across software design, development, testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and operational stability.
  • Define data models, contracts, consumption patterns, and integration patterns, and create automation for data reconciliation and curation.
  • Deliver reusable technical solutions across group entities and eliminate recurring issues through process automation.
  • Promote secure, high-quality engineering practices including test-driven development, code reviews, and continuous integration and delivery.
  • Build collaborative, inclusive relationships with teams across multiple domains.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of proven software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Hands-on experience delivering systems design, software development, testing, and operationally stable systems.
  • Experience with automation, continuous integration and delivery, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, cloud-native solutions, large-scale datasets, data pipelines, and cloud platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of containers and experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong experience with Kafka technologies and understanding of cloud storage, networking, resource provisioning, data structures, algorithms, software design, design patterns, and core programming concepts.
  • Proficiency with relevant programming languages, frameworks, and technologies including Python, Java, Rust, JavaScript, React, Angular, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
  • Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies and experience applying engineering practices such as test-driven development and code reviews.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred qualifications include GCP Cloud Architect, GCP Cloud Developer, Professional Data Engineer, or Apache Kafka CCDAK certification, plus strong data analysis and data lifecycle experience.
