Base Salary
$100k - $167k/yr
Responsibilities
- Review database designs and assess the impact of database changes across upstream, downstream, and customer environments.
- Coordinate database release planning, testing, deployment, and change management activities.
- Develop database tools, utilities, automation solutions, database objects, maintenance scripts, reports, and monitoring solutions.
- Support database testing, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and technical consulting for cross-functional teams.
- Support database deployments, migrations, modernization, capacity planning, monitoring, maintenance, and release management in cloud environments.
- Respond to database incidents involving performance, data discrepancies, latency, access, and availability issues.
- Perform performance tuning, optimization, capacity management, backup validation, failover testing, restoration testing, and disaster recovery exercises.
- Develop scripts and automation to improve operational efficiency, standardization, monitoring, and process optimization.
- Document procedures, best practices, and technical solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience administering and supporting enterprise database environments, including Sybase ASE and Azure/AWS SQL managed instances.
- Experience supporting databases on Red Hat Linux platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills in complex production environments.
- Experience with SQL performance tuning, stored procedures, triggers, and database optimization.
- Experience developing automation scripts using Python, Bash, or Perl.
- Knowledge of database replication, high availability, backup, recovery, failover, and disaster recovery practices.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms is preferred.
- Experience with large-scale OLTP or data warehouse environments, including Snowflake, is preferred.
- Experience with replication technologies, Kafka-based data distribution, Azure Data Factory, benchmark or load testing, migrations, upgrades, monitoring solutions, AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, NoSQL, or Azure Cosmos DB is preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and independent-work skills.
- Financial industry experience is a plus.

- The anticipated base salary is $100,200 - $167,000, with eligibility for an Annual Incentive Plan; compensation figures are excluded from benefits classification.
