Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, refactor, and troubleshoot native Android features for the China app.
- Participate in technical design, API integration, code reviews, unit testing, and troubleshooting while maintaining code quality and mobile architecture and security standards.
- Optimize startup time, page rendering, memory usage, ANR rates, package size, and weak-network adaptation, while improving crash rates and user experience metrics.
- Collaborate with product owners, UI/UX designers, backend engineers, and QA to clarify requirements, identify technical risks, and deliver features on schedule.
- Coordinate with the global mobile team on component libraries, shared SDKs, security policies, release workflows, and China-specific framework adaptations.
- Monitor production anomalies, investigate crash logs and user feedback, resolve production issues, and support hotfix and patch releases.
- Adapt the app for Android platform updates, multiple device brands, and multiple Android versions.
- Contribute to mobile componentization and reusable internal SDKs while following secure coding, privacy, and China data-compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Mandarin proficiency is required.
- 4–5.5 years of professional native Android development experience is required.
- Capable Kotlin skills and a solid Kotlin and Java foundation are required.
- Familiarity with Android SDK and Android Jetpack, including Compose, ViewModel, LiveData, Room, and WorkManager, is required.
- Good written and reading English is essential.
- Experience developing consumer-facing travel, hospitality, or e-commerce mobile apps is preferred.
- Good spoken English is a plus but not required.
