Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design the financial architecture for GovWell's payment system.
- Build a fully auditable and mathematically consistent ledger.
- Create a precise fee calculation system.
- Ensure partial payments, deposits, and refunds are integral to the platform.
- Manage the migration of payment systems to the new architecture.
- Collaborate with finance teams and municipal staff to meet their needs.
- Set technical standards for future engineering efforts in this domain.
Requirements
- Experience designing financial or transactional systems.
- Strong opinions on payments system architecture.
- Comfortable with ambiguity in domain design.
- Experience with idempotency, webhooks, and payment processor integrations.
- Ability to think in terms of invariants and edge cases.
- Excitement for working with AI models in development.
- Proven track record of owning a large product area end-to-end.
- Strong product instincts and customer problem-solving skills.
