$150k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable backend services that orchestrate AI workflows, manage data pipelines, and integrate with enterprise financial tools.
- Ingest and normalize public filings, earnings transcripts, market data feeds, research reports, and other fragmented sources.
- Integrate language models and AI capabilities into production research workflows.
- Drive architectural decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and establish scalable engineering patterns.
- Own systems end-to-end across architecture, services, database optimization, deployment, monitoring, and reliability.
- Optimize database queries, API response times, and pipeline throughput for enterprise-scale workloads.
- Deliver comprehensive testing, monitoring, and deployment pipelines.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, architectural guidance, and technical mentorship.
- Ship a major production system within the first 90 days and help establish engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production applications at scale.
- Backend experience with Python or Node.js, API design, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
- Proven experience designing and scaling distributed systems.
- Experience working with large datasets, ETL pipelines, and analytics infrastructure.
- Experience driving architectural decisions and mentoring engineers.
- Familiarity with Git workflows, automated testing, observability, and deployment pipelines.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs to engineering and business stakeholders.
- A user-focused product mindset and ability to iterate based on feedback.
- Financial services experience is preferred but not required.
