Base Salary
$248k - $279k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction of major Data Platform initiatives such as governance, risk, and compliance; scaling; and stream processing from problem definition through production and post-launch health.
- Build reusable primitives, unblock teammates, and raise the team's engineering quality bar.
- Write substantial production code while helping other engineers reach the same standard.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business problems into clear technical strategy.
- Drive robust technical solutions through debate, decision-making, commitment, and pragmatic prioritization.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience driving large, ambiguous technical initiatives end-to-end.
- Expertise in distributed systems and data infrastructure at scale.
- Ability to multiply team impact through architectural leadership, design reviews, reusable abstractions, and mentorship.
- Strong technical judgment around delivery speed, implementation versus integration, and stakeholder alignment.
- Experience driving alignment across engineering, product, and business without relying on formal authority.
- Experience with data governance, privacy compliance, real-time analytics infrastructure, or cost optimization in large-scale data environments is preferred.
- Passion for Discord and gaming is preferred.
