Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services for decisioning, execution, and capacity layers.
- Own complex systems from architecture through deployment and performance monitoring.
- Build and harden integrations with carrier networks and partner APIs.
- Collaborate with frontend, product, design, and data teams to create user-first experiences.
- Improve transaction and policy infrastructure for accuracy and resilience.
- Enhance documentation, testing, code quality, and incident response.
- Make pragmatic technical decisions that advance business goals.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping backend systems in production.
- Strong proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks; Go or TypeScript experience is a plus.
- Fluency in designing RESTful APIs and working with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
- Solid command of cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep understanding of scalable system design and performance optimization.
- Ability to balance technical quality with speed and user value.
- High agency and proactive approach in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.
