Responsibilities
- Own complex customer deployment issues from initial report through diagnosis, validated fix, and controlled release.
- Work onsite or closely with wireless customer development teams during major feature introductions.
- Analyze signaling flows, logs, traces, packet captures, timing behavior, call flows, and performance data across customer and Keysight implementations.
- Write and modify application, protocol-stack, supporting software, and firmware.
- Develop Python APIs, customer workflow automation, diagnostic instrumentation, patches, feature flags, and interim releases.
- Prototype and iterate on new features with customers using live feedback.
- Translate field problems into engineering requirements and defects for product management and R&D.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent and typically 4–5 years of relevant software or systems engineering experience.
- Strong software-development experience across multiple software stacks.
- Expertise in at least one wireless domain such as PHY/L1, MAC/RLC/PDCP and L2, or RRC/NAS and L3, with working knowledge of adjacent layers and end-to-end 4G, 5G, and 5G-Advanced behavior.
- Proficiency in C/C++, Python including API development, Linux, embedded or real-time software, and automated testing.
- Experience debugging protocol interactions through logs, traces, packet captures, call flows, and timing analysis.
- Familiarity with 3GPP specifications, standards compliance, interoperability, and implementation behavior.
- Experience with design and test instrumentation and test emulation tools.
- Ability to produce production-quality code for customer builds and operate within confidential development programs.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to relocate or travel to a specific customer site as required.
