Responsibilities
- Own software features throughout the development lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
- Translate ambiguous and evolving requirements into effective software solutions.
- Build reliable, maintainable applications, services, APIs, and supporting software infrastructure.
- Contribute to GUI/frontend applications and visualizations for complex technical information.
- Collaborate with research scientists, engineers, project managers, operators, and customers to understand technical and operational needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, applied mathematics, engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience building applications or production software systems.
- Experience with object-oriented design and software development using Java, C++, or C#.
- Experience developing applications, services, or APIs and contributing to GUI/frontend application development.
- U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must be eligible for a security investigation and access to classified information.
- Preferred qualifications include an active SECRET clearance, high-performance multithreaded software experience, defense or national security experience, TypeScript and React experience, Python for scientific computing or modeling, data-intensive or distributed systems experience, and AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD experience.
