Responsibilities
- Qualify technical leads by assessing code volume, dependencies, compliance constraints, and the client’s internal AI maturity.
- Lead discussions with IT departments, CISOs, CTOs, architects, and other client stakeholders.
- Identify client constraints and preferences around security, performance, target stack, existing systems, and permitted LLMs.
- Design incremental legacy-modernisation and migration strategies, including risk isolation and target-stack selection.
- Integrate AI coding tools to accelerate code comprehension and transpilation.
- Produce architecture diagrams, ADRs, and prospect-facing proofs of concept.
- Monitor modernisation patterns, LLMs, and state-of-the-art AI coding tools.
- Estimate technical complexity, delivery effort, budget alignment, risks, and complexity areas.
- Support and defend commercial proposals by explaining technical value and business impact.
- Help sales teams plan delivery by defining the teams to staff, then hand over to delivery teams and provide technical after-sales support.
Requirements
- Graduated from a top engineering school.
- At least 5 years of experience in technology delivery or technical pre-sales, such as Tech Lead, Architect, Senior Software Engineer, or technical pre-sales roles.
- Production coding experience and proficiency with at least one modern web, mobile, infrastructure, or data stack.
- Comfort acting as the technical partner to sales on long sales cycles with IT departments and executive committees.
- Strong interest in and clear opinions about AI coding and its concrete impact on software development.
- Ability to connect technology choices to business outcomes such as margin, time-to-market, and cost of inaction.
- High standards for quality and ability to challenge assumptions pedagogically.
- Ability to collaborate with sales, tech leads, clients, and C-level stakeholders.
- Interest in continuous improvement, teamwork, and taking initiative.
